FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What can I expect
in a typical healing session?
Dress in loose comfortable clothing. We begin
with some conversation based on guiding questions you have
answered about your physical, emotional, mental and
spiritual health on the Intake form.
For a Healing Science or
Reiki session you will
move to the healing table, where you lie on your back in a
relaxed, receptive state. Accompanied by soft music and
aroma, I place my hands on or near various acupressure
points and chakras, allowing a flow of healing energy. You
may feel energy, sense an emotional release or fall asleep.
When complete, I leave you resting a few minutes to
integrate the healing.
For a shamanic session, you will lie on
a mat on the floor. I may lie next to you, touching at the
shoulder, hip and ankle or I may move around you. I use the
rhythm of a drum or rattle to enter an altered state of
consciousness and carry out healing procedures. I then
describe the images, metaphors and symbols I have seen in
the journey state.

Can I receive a healing long
distance?
Distance Healing is a very comfortable, effective
alternative to visiting the healer’s office in person, as I
know from personal experience in both receiving and sending
distance healing. I access and connect with your Energy
Field across distance. The distance is not an obstacle and
it has been found that being in the next room is no
different than being in the next country or even continent.
Reiki, Brennan Healing Science and Shamanic sessions can all be
completed long distance.
The healing session begins with a pre-scheduled phone
call, when you call me to discuss your concerns for about
ten minutes. We hang up and you lie down in a quiet room in
a receptive mode for half an hour receiving the healing. At
the end of that time I phone you again and I tell you about
the healing. I find this an excellent way to work with
children, offering the healing early in the morning before
they are awake. I speak with the parent the day before and
we schedule a call back time for later in the day of the
healing.

What is the difference between healing and curing?
Healing is the process of becoming whole again, of returning
to the state of well-being and balance you are intended to
have. Particularly in our Western culture, which prefers to
take a linear, material, pragmatic approach to illness, the
goal is symptomatic relief, or curing. Addressing
underlying energetic imbalances and eliminating causes is
the goal of healing.

How do I decide if Reiki, Energy Healing or
Shamanic Healing is best for me?
Mostly, your inner knowing as to which seems to draw you
more strongly will be your guide. But you really don’t have
to decide until we have our first session which begins with
a half-hour intake interview. From my assessment of your
energy field, background information and presenting
complaint I will be able to suggest the best program of
healings for you. A series of healings that includes some
sessions from each of the modalities is particularly
effective.

How can I tell when a healing is
working?
It is your intentionality to initiate change and
improved well-being that provides the impetus for healing to
take place. So, even the simple act of scheduling a session
begins the healing process. Flutters of anticipation or
nervousness are all part of the work. During the healing
sessions itself, you may feel tingling or mild tremors, or
you may go into a deeply restful state. For several days
after a healing, I suggest that you be particularly alert to
synchronicities and dreams. I may give you some “homework”
in the form of exercises or journaling to deepen the
process. But most of all, you will know the healing is
working because change will happen.

Can I give a gift healing to my
(brother, girlfriend, child, etc)?
Yes, sort of, but with the exception of children under
the age of sixteen, mostly no. It is my experience that
effective healing is initiated by the intention of the
individual. So, I ask you to consider honestly, why are you
asking to do this? Is it because you have a great longing
and curiosity for healing, but believe you personally are
less entitled than the other? Is it because your loved
one’s behavior or suffering is difficult to tolerate? Then
I suggest that you consider gifting yourself with that
healing session first.
I only do healings with those who
request the healing work and actively participate by
completing the intake interview, engaging in the intention
setting dialogue and in all ways being a co-creative
participant. All that being so, if you wish to pay for the
sessions and the healee is willing to accept the gift,
perhaps the answer is yes.
I do in person or distance work with
children aged sixteen to six at the request of the parent as
long as the child consents to participate. Younger than age
six, I do distance work with the child at the parent’s
consent.
